Date: 8 Mar 1996 12:44:54 GMT From: YourNameHere <yname@uk.oracle.com> Organization: Oracle Corporation UK Limited To: pyr2:swimmerp@oanet.com Newsgroups: news.newusers.questions References: 1,2 i'd suggest flogging off your old po to some punter and buying a whole new one. also make sure that when you go and buy one that it will be upgradeable to the new p6 chip which has just been released by intel and amd. the processors have a speed of 166mhz. on the ram side of things make sure that your sticking in as much ram (16mb if you can afford it) as most of the software that is out on the market on the moment requires high processing power. their is a problem with some of the new po's in that they are not putting caching on the motherboard. this makes the po have to call on the hard drive a lot more slowing down the machine. if you want any more info e-mail me on cwatson@uk.oracle.com corey T Corbeille
